Description This not a sealed locus, but it is comprised of compacted beaten earth with significant numbers of architectural fragments, most important of which are fragments of plaster. It lenses into burnt deposits of Locus 8 and has ash lenses of a Munsell very dark gray 7.5YR 3/1.

Size 3/4 of what has been excavated in the east side of the trench. This locus became L-shaped, measuring 2.84 m east west-by-5.70 m north south.
Location From the fifth column in the north to the Byzantine Wall. It lies between the Locus 10 wall on the north to the Locus 5 steps in the south.
Top (m) Opening elevation: - 0.10 m below Sub datum Pt. 71 A, or 899.78 m.
