Description This roughly square base to the East Plaza platform is constructed of many cobblestones, roughly the thickness of pavers, laid into a square. It is solid, although the masonry work is not skillfully laid. It is, however, more clearly deliberate than the Locus 36 mortar and stone platform fill, which is haphazardly constructed. This base is wider than the upper parts of the platform, which taper inward slightly and then are walled in with another layer of stones.
