Description | Munsell 7.5YR 4/6, a strong brown (matrix only) soil. Locus 2 is a stone fill laid fairly carefully. It is interpreted to be structural fill below the small Hexagonal Pavement of the Temple Forecourt of the Upper Temenos. Many of the blocks are large and roughly squared-off. The northern edge has suffered erosion. The debris on top of this locus was cleared off, but Locus 2 itself was not excavated. |
