Description | The mouth opening is taller than wide and the lower jaw is broken off at the side holes, including most of the fangs. None of its right ear and only a bit if its left are preserved. The nose is damaged, but seems to have had a high central ridge. On its end, which is rounded, the two indented nostrils contain traces of red paint. The high eyebrows arch straight back from the nose and do not curve foward again to form rounded sockets, as on other spouts. The left eye bulges high and is pointed at its back end. On the right side, it seems that the mouth curved back to meet the fangs, as on 19680031. Behind the left eye is a black spot, perhaps evidence of burning. |
Fabric Description | Coarse clay wtih bits of stone fired orange-brown. |
