Definition Fourth layer from top of test trench (1.00 m)
Description With this layer of fill we began to uncover many large sandstone chunks and pieces of ashlars, which we tied to the end of our rope and lifted out of the cistern with a pulley. The Munsell of the soil was 7.5YR4/3, Brown. Aside from the usual mix of artifactual material, many roof tiles were again found when we excavated this locus.
