Bird Specimens Description >4mm flotation #5015 (#1-18) has several fragments of mammal and amphibian in addition to quite a few bird bone fragments spread through the body. About a third are burnt. Range of bird sizes, but a lot is mallard/Anas. >4mm flotation #5016 (#19-50) is about 25% amphibian and mammal and a snail shell. There remains a substantial amount of rather fragmented bird bone, spread through the body. About a quarter are burnt. Dry sieve (3mm) from 90 liters has two mammalian specimens (fox-size MP and scapula) and one bird sternum (#51). Another bag labeled “an extra bone bag” (#52-54) looks like it is material from the dry sieve. Most of it is mammalian (including nice carnivore ilium) with one amphibian specimen, but there are 3 bird specimens: 2 coracoids and a tibiotarsus, all medium bird. No burning. And another bag of >3mm dry-sieved (#55-62) from (the same or another?) 90 liters is quite dirty. About a third is mammal and amphibian. The bird is all medium and large, and breast and wing; no burning.
