Description | Rising 0.09 m above the builders trench extending to its south, this sandstone leveling course effectively acts as a thin stylobate for the southernmost east west colonnade. The stones are hewn, but not dressed, and extend between the plinths of each of the columns in the colonnade. While the individual sections of the foundation course between each set of adjacent columns are not connected architecturally, they have been combined as one locus as they are likely component parts of the same constructional event. |
