Description The remains of this lead pipe extended under the south wall of doorway for the Central Arch. Christian F. Cloke suggested that this installation’s purpose was likely to collect rainwater from the roof and to direct it into the main interior water arteries of the Temple. In this case, it appears the lead pipe should connect to the channelization, however this intersection would occur underneath the west side of Trench 57, 1998, Locus 20 (South Wall and “Door”).
