Stage Description Secondary collapse from major seismic activity. Columns collapse.

Description This is a Light Brown (Munsell 7.5 YR 6/4), coarse, loose, sandy, overburden layer, which includes area within and immediately adjacent to the doorway. The deposit contains coarser soil and includes more unhewn boulders and collapsed ashlars and columns than Locus 22. One of the columns removed from the doorway contained an incised Mason’s Mark (Seq. No. 73182), and the diameters of the columns ranged from 0.49 m, 1.06 m to 1.15 m. Diameters of the half and full column drums, may correspond with those from the Neil and Suleiman columns in the Upper Temenos. Stone architectural fragments from capitals were also included in the fill.
