Description Locus 14 is a sounding dug into Locus 13. It is characterised by the same light brown fine grained soil as Locus 13, incorporating carbon which gives the soil a mottled appearance. In spite of being below the packed floor surface of Locus 13, Locus 14 continued to produce archaeological material, demonstrating that that surface was made over non-sterile soil.
