Description | This wall is an exceptionally laid three courses of well-hewn and dressed ashlar blocks. There are three courses of wet laid stones. The height of the uppermost course is 0.33 m, and it was originally covered with plaster. The upper row length is 5.00 m and it is composed as one course of eight ashlars set as headers. There are then two offsets the lower offset measures 0.12 m, and the upper offset measures 0.13 m. The lowest course measures 1.15 m in depth and it is composed of seven ashlars. Both the width and the rows are undetermined due to the superstructure, but the width on one corner ashlar was measured at approximately 0.70 m. This platform seems to have been constructed on earth and it is the platform socle for the superstructure of the Ornamental Pool. The bath system seems to have been planned as a single unit and it appears that it is on the same axis of orientation as the Great Temple, northwest to southeast. This locus along with others of the bath complex appears to be self-contained elements in an overall design that physically distinguish different areas of the baths. |
