Description Locus 20 is the wall of dressed, sandstone ashlars that extends along the east balk. It begins 1.0 m north of the south balk and extends north for 4.06 m, bordering Locus 25, step bedding. At this time, there are eight partially-exposed, ashlar blocks visible. In the south, the wall consists of two courses, one on level with the steps and one above it. The lower course is made of much smaller and more square blocks. This continues for 1.63 m, at which time the lower course quits, and there is only one course that is level with the steps. The blocks are Nabataean, limestone ashlars with a diagonal dressing. They extend to the east into the balk, so their width is not known. Locus 20 is on line with the edge of the stylobate and appears to be on line with the Propylaea Steps.
