Description As excavated, this is a seven course east west cross wall that may have been constructed as the terminus for the Cryptoporticus vaulted system found in Trenches 51 and 69 to the north in the Propylaeum. It seems to extend further to the west than we expected, and investigation should also continue to the east to confirm our understanding of how it relates to the Hexagonal Pavement of the Lower Temenos. Between the second and third rows from the top it is stepped. The ashlars are significantly larger at the bottom of the wall, being 1.02 m in width as opposed to 0.57 m in width at the top (they are set as headers).
