Description | A rough casemate wall built between the columns of the colonnade. Locus 10, the eastern wall, is the facing for this wall, which cannot be seen except from above. The presence of such a wall may help explain why the stairways and bounding walls were built the Inter-Columnar Wall may serve as some kind of reinforcement of the columns, assuming that the structural integrity of the Great Temple may have been wanting. |
