Description | Enigmatic cut in the center of the orchestra wall (therefore, in the southeast corner of Trench 62). It is an irregular cut, approximately 0. 22 m by 0.27 m, plugged with a small square stone. The stone was not removed this season, nor was the hole explored, but from its strange shape and arrangement it seems likely that it was not part of the original construction of the orchestra wall. This feature is placed in Phase III because it seems to postdate the original Theatron architecture, but it could in fact be later. |
