Description | Locus 11, the Joe Column, is located on the west side of the trench, in the Intercolumnar Wall between the Chet and Neil Columns. It is composed of sandstone drums measuring approximately 0.48 m in height and 1.12 m in diameter. Based on the alternating red-yellow color scheme of the inner colonnade, the Joe Column would have been stuccoed red in antiquity; however, no in situ remains of this plaster were discovered. |
