Description Locus 5 consists of a dark gray soil that is full of roots and other organic material. This locus contains the top soil/humus layer. Locus 5 is equivalent to locus 1 and is being treated separately because locus 5 covers the eastern extension of the trench. Locus 5 uncovered the extent of the rock spread that makes up locus 6. Additionally, a yellowish soil began to appear in locus 5 at the eastern edge of the trench but was left unexcavated. Materials recovered from this locus include approximately 3 bowls of terracotta, 2 boxes of pottery, and a sheet of bronze (20110041).
