Description | Locus 3, the East-West Inter-Columnar wall, lies along the south balk. It is constructed of diagonally-dressed, sandstone blocks. The wall is present only to the west of the Ric Column (Locus 2) and to the east of the Fatma Column (Locus 2). In between the columns, the wall has been destroyed. The north face of Locus 3 wall appears to stop at the level of the floor (Locus 5, bedding), and the south face is lost until an elevation of 890.3 m, from which it exists for the remaining depth of the trench (* 888.23 m). See Locus 13 for a description of the repairs to this wall. The wall is, however, well-preserved in Trench 35 and contains a doorway in Trench 34. |
Stage Description | Secondary construction of the intercolumnar walls, vaulted chambers and Central Arch. |
