Architectural or Soil Locus? Soil
Location Central sondage, between Loci 3 and 6.
Size 1.10 m north south-by-2.22 m east west.
Stage Stage 5
Underlies Locus 22.
Preserved Height variable, see balk sketches.
Definition Natural deposition stratum
Overlies Locus 24.
Description A stratum of mixed soils and stones. The soil consistencies ranged between silt, sand, and granules, while the stones included sizes between pebbles and cobbles. The Munsell Colors of the layer were between 7.5 YR 5/3 – 5/4 (Brown), with swirls of 5 YR 5/4 (Reddish Brown). The nature and distribution of this stratum suggests that it resulted from a natural deposition process. It is possibly the result of a wash event, as there is a slight sloping from the south toward the north. However, the only artifact recovered was a coin.
Bottom (m) Closing elevation: lowest 891.291 m.
Stage Description Sedimentation.
Combined with None.
Phase Pre-Site Phase I
Top (m) Opening elevation: highest 891.621 m.
