Description The limestone Hexagonal Pavement found across the Lower Temenos was also found to exist in a large, well-preserved section of Trench 17. The section of floor uncovered is 3.10 m wide, extending into the west balk and to the north for 9.66 m, becoming less preserved in the last two meters, until the paving stones completely disappear. The hexagonals average 0.78 m in width from flat side to flat side. Into the fifth complete paver north on the east side is carved a hexagonal drain (see Locus 10). The east extent of the floor is bordered by a row of rectangular, red sandstone blocks (0.35-x-0.88 m), which extend to Locus 21.
Definition Hexagonal Pavement.
