Description | Interior north-south wall along the central axis of the 'Adyton,' creating the east wall of the West 'Adyton.' Constructed of sandstone ashlars. At its southernmost end where it bonds with the north face of Wall/Locus 43, it stands 11 courses high, the top course being the triangular stones that create a sloped ceiling like that in the interior west staircase. At its north extent are three courses of vault stones, the faces of which are slightly concave for creating a vaulted ceiling. (See Trench 9 1994 Final Report for additional documentation.) |
