Description A fragment of terracotta pan tile which has been vitrified. The fragment preserves two faces, but all edges are ancient breaks. It has been warped from vitrification in such a way that the finished face of the pan is somewhat convex and the unfinished face of the pan is somewhat concave. The finished face also has a raised portion which may have been formed from elements being impressed on either side of it during the vitrification process. This ridge is 0.05585m in length and 0.01026m in width. An entire area between two break edges also has several impressions, causing irregular ridging, through which a crack runs roughly perpendicularly. The unfinished face is also warped and cracked, but does not preserve any impressions.
