Description The soil of Locus 4 was blue/almost black with a very claylike texture. It was very damp and had a swamplike smell (probably from decomposing organic material). The finds seem to be exclusively ancient and included a frieze plaque fragment (find #3 p. 47) that suggest some sort of chronological relationship to the Archaic building on Piano del' Tesoro.
