Description | The two large (width is indeterminate) dry laid and dressed ashlars seem to provide a deep foundation for the overlying structures. The curious construction of both Loci 29 and 30 create a space in-between the constructions of 0.80 m. east west-by-0.32 m north south gap that is not a channel. It appears the large ashlars were laid as a platform for the construction of the further architectural elements. The difficult problem in relation to these ashlars is their comparative construction technique monumental and ostensibly Nabataean based on the diagonal dressing and the completely different dry-laid fieldstone wall above these that does not appear to be a Nabataean construction. |
