Definition Pavement of the East Adytus maximus
Description Pavement of the east adytus maximus (east west passage from the East Corridor to the orchestra). It is constructed in almost exactly the same fashion as the orchestra floor, with limestone pavers of similar dimensions and arrangement. The floor is bordered on the west by the limestone curb, on the north by the sandstone curb of the pulpitum, on the east by the postulated pavement of the East Corridor (now lost), and on the south by a sandstone curb which abuts the north face of the east "horn" of the Theatron seating (approximately 4.60 m-by-2.25 m). Some pavers have been damaged and some of the east edge of the floor is missing, revealing the bedding underneath.
