Condition Broken through right-hand side of face, and around side of lower jaw; worn. Traces of red paint and dark discoloration.
Description Deep mouth. The break begins right of the part in the hair, cuts through the right hand eye, and curves right to preserve the entire mouth. The antefix bottom and hair are broken away on the right-hand side. Because of wear, details like the eye and nose wrinkles and the teeth and fangs are not clear. The hair on the left side is preserved. On the left sides of the left eyeball and the chin are slight indented irregularities, probably left by fingers before firing; in addition, the three lobes of the nose are flattened. The tile scar on the back is raised, and rougher and darker than the rest.
Fabric Description Coarse clay with bits of stone fired orange-brown on the exterior, darker in the interior.
