Description | This room measures 2.10 m north south-by-4.10 m east west. It is located on a higher level than chambers 3-5 to its east, but at the same level as Locus 33 of N Rooms Chamber 1. The north wall is composed of three courses set as stretchers and at 2.10 m it has a slanted or angled corner measuring 0.30 m in width that was unexplored but may have covered a flue. Presumably these ashlars are set in two courses of casemate construction. The south wall is 1.86 m in length-by-0.70 m in width-by-0.90 m in height. It is two courses in height and two rows in width with mortar fill in between. It has a doorway and to the corner of the doorway from the east 0.70 m and from the west it is 0.69 m to the doorway. The doorway itself is 0.60 m in width and is constructed with five courses of small headers with snecking stones and tiles. The east wall, three rows in width, is constructed with north and south piers with a filled in doorway between them. The north pier is 0.93 m in length-by-0.82 m in height, and the south pier is 0.86 m in length-by-0.87 m in height. The width of the doorway is 1.13 m east west-by-2.20 m north south length. It is five courses of filled in ashlars. The floor measures 0.96 m north south-by-0.65 m east west, and it has slumped into a 0.04 m depression. The entry doorway threshold measures 1.06 m north south-by-0.38 m east west and it is directly aligned with the entry into the room. The major wall is composed of two to three courses of reused ashlars set into two rows with the middle, bonding wall of plaster, mud mortar and cement. The width of the wall on the south is 0.70 m. On the north it is unclear how it connects with Trench 126. |
