Description Interior north-south wall dividing the interior Western Staircase and the West 'Adyton.' Its south face is the north wall of the upper landing; the north extension disappears into the north balk of Trench 22 and is not completely excavated (only the top in situ stones are revealed). Constructed of sandstone ashlars many of which are diagonally-dressed. There are two openings in the wall: 1) the southernmost, which is located halfway down the West Staircase Monica Stairway Locus 38, appears to be a window allowing light into the West 'Adyton' from the window in the west Inter-Columnar Wall/Locus 42 and 2) the northernmost, which is located at the bottom of the Staircase Locus 38, may be a door leading from the lower landing to the West 'Adyton' (based on information from Trench 15). (See Trench 9, 1994 Final Report for additional documentation).
Stage Description Interior vaulted chamber's walls built.
