| Description | Locus 9 was opened in order to level and define a liner rock and tile scattering extending north to south in the center of the trench. The rocks averaged around fist size and were intermixed with pottery and a smaller amount of architectural terracotta. Considering its small size, a great deal of pottery and slag was unearthed in locus 9. The fabric of the pottery was primarily impasto, as all other loci. A worked antler hammer (20120200) was also excavated from locus 9. Locus 9 was closed when the feature was leveled to the surface of the surrounding area. |
