Early Bronze Age Numayra
Excavations at the Early Bronze Age Townsite in Jordan, 1977-1983
Project Abstract
This data comes from the final report of the excavations at the Early Bronze Age sites of EB III Numayra (2850-2550 bc cal), conducted by the Expedition to the Dead Sea Plain (EDSP) in 1977, 1979, 1981, and 1983 under the joint direction of Drs. R. Thomas Schaub and Walter E. Rast. The EDSP excavated at Numayra (and EB IB Ras an-Numayra) as part of their broader objective to investigate the emergence of widespread settlement on the southeastern Dead Sea Plain during the Early Bronze Age (EBA, c.3600 – 2000 BCE). The final publication will be published by Eisenbrauns in 2018.
