Description Portion of the leg of an impasto vessel. Leg preserves a flat surface on a slight angle at the finished end. The leg itself is a roughly cylindrical shaft. The shaft is irregular and apparently hand molded. The surface has a flattened planes running along the length of the leg indicating burnishing. At the broken end, the leg flares out slightly to join to the vessel. None of the interior of the vessel is preserved. The biscuit is bichrome, with a pale brown changing to a dark brown abruptly, perhaps indicating that the exterior of the leg was built around a core.
