Locus 1 is declared over the entire trench. Locus 1 consists of a layer of backfill that was deposited after T-26 was originally excavated. There is no archaeological material in this soil and it is full of roots, grass, and other organic material. We will now begin excavation with trowels in the northeastern corner of the trench in order to uncover one of the column pads of OC/2. The column pad in the northeast corner has been fully uncovered. We will now stop work in this area and begin the excavation of the column pad that should be in the northwest corner of the trench. By revealing this it is hoped that this trench will be properly oriented with the footprint tiles.
PM
We are continuing to reveal the column pad in the northwest corner of the trench. This column pad has also been fully revealed.
