August 14, 1969

From the W side of Ag4 we collected 8 boxes of tiles, much pottery, and a tiny piece of bronze. A distinct line of foundation stones appeared, projecting about 0.18m form the center cut, at a depth of 1.15m. Agger 5 alos yielded much pottery plus 2 boxexs of tile and several finds. We extended the trench 4.0 x 6.50 m NS on the W but immediately beside the first cut, rather than leaving a central profile, as we did with agger 3 and agger4. Finds included:
