A pick pass was done through the trench. The soil was sorted by hand and dumped. Tile and pottery was recovered. The soil is still a sandy soil that breaks apart easily when picked. The middle spot from yesterday (@51.8E, 57.5 S) still is the easiest to pick, however there is still no clear border here. The eastern half of the trench is slightly higher than the west, so this area was picked to level it with the rest of the trench. While cleaning up the soil a few fragments of carbon were found in the middle spot but still no border has been found. The floor of the trench was leveled with a 3-4 cm scrape. Tile was recovered. The stump on the south baulk was trimmed. While cleaning a piece of slag was found (SF #1). The baulk wall was trimmed.
