July 23rd

The remaining section of the rock packing in I-J/8-9 was removed this morning.  This area provided two "strawberry" boxes of carseware pottery rims, tile fragments and a section of banquet frieze plaque.

Three large stones resting in grids J-8, J-7 and J-6, at an approx. depth of 40cm, have been left untouched.  When measured from center to center, each stone is spaced 1m 60 apart between J-6 and J-7, and 1m35 apart between J-7 and J-8.

Grid K-L/5-6 was also excavated today, with sections of frieze plaque, acroteria and bronze pieces being found.
