Work began today in meters W71-72/S34-35. The lens feature has diminished in size but the color is still darker than the surrounding soil. It is now only present in W72/S35. The size difference is probably a result of the rain yesterday.
We began a 10cm (30-40) cut in W71-72/S34-35 using trowels to see if the lens feature continues.

Work continued this afternoon in meters W72-71/S34-35. Material recovery from the lens has increased. Pottery, terracotta, plaster and traces of carbon have been collected. Totals included 20 pieces of pottery, 10 pieces of bone (which were from the lens), worn plaster and terracotta. Soil in the lens is dark brown and remains light brown outside the feature.
