The area contained to the north and west of the walls in F-M 36 and M32-36 were swept down and cleaned. The floor surface in G-E-F-33-36 was lowered slightly to uncover the bedrock surmised earlier in e-F 33-36, this showed that the bedrock found in g-H 30-32 continued W-E across the entire 7meter width of the trench through E-F 33-36 at an average depth of 70-90cm. In addition, while cleaning down the wall in g-F 36, the wall showed a noticeable thickening in these grids.
N-O 30-32 was excavated to a depth of 90cm. A heavy burn layer was encountered at this level, fragments of pottery (9 cartons) and tile (2 boxes) were extremely numerous, particularly
in O32 (where the burn layer continues below the excavated floor and was not completed) and in N30, where bedrock appeared with the burn layer immediately above it. One should not that this area produced a surprising number of fragments of glazed buff ware (about 60 fragments).
