Photos of trench.

July 20, 1990

A.M.

J-M/77 was swept to reveal a pack of stone.  These were measured with the transit in order to learn if the pack is at a similar elevation to that in Nathan Meyer's / Dani Newland's adjacent trench.

The stone pack in D-I/77 at 100 cm was also cleaned and its elevation measured.

A cut to 60 cm was made in J/77.  Soil here was full of rocks and was shale-like with pockets of more brown soil.  Less than one cassetta of tile was found, but for a one square meter cut, tile was fairly abudant.  Several "slingstone" white rocks were found and less than 1/4 of a latte of pottery.

P.M.

K-L/77 were brought down to 60 cm.  Rocks were removed from these meters.  Pottery was found in heavy concentration in L/77.  Tile filled 3/4 of a cassetta.

The rock pack in D-H/77 was cleaned further with trowels.
