1+ boxes of pottery
Complete clearing area to east of north south wall in grids L-M37-38 except for the small tile fall in M38, which continueds beyond the east wall of the cut, reaching a level ca.10cm. below the top of the wall.
Continue digging in N35-36 and move to the south ca. 5cm. below the top fo the wall. here we find the continuation fo the burn layer which varies in depth but is encountered ca.9-12cm. down teh cut. Here we find large masses of burnt woold and plaster as well as the characteristic red and black granular material. Also some tile above and in the burn layer, a carton of pottery, mostly coarse but some bucchero and pink orange and a few bits of bronze and bones.
Begin to extend cut toware the east in grids N-S37-38 to link the two areas dug along the outside of the north-south and east-west walls. Here we find a dark tan soil with scattered fragments of tile and overa cartol of pottery mainly coarse (ie. pithos fragments). This cut reaches the east end of a green-orange ware. This is bagged and stored as a sample among the unusual fragments.

The cut to the east in N-O37-38 was cintinued to a level of approximately 10cm. below the wall. From the corner of the N-S wall extending south, a line on stones appeared in N-O37. the stones seem to be only one course wide and are small. The the east and south of the main wall, finds are few and the burn layer is not longer visible in great quantity.
