Pottery Summary II

A small amount of pottery (163 sherds) was recovered from CB-40 during the 2010 excavation season. Locus 1 , the topsoil layer (a medium brown, claylike soil), contained the highest amount of pottery, including the fragments of a rocchetto found within the baulk trim ( 20100091

20100091
). Locus 2 produced a small amount of pottery within the first and most superficial pick pass of the trench. Once elevations were dropped across the trench, however the yellow, flakey soil proved to be sterile. Again, the small amount of pottery recovered from CB-40 does not provide conclusive information regarding the southern Civitate B area.
