A moderate amount of metal was found in CB56. The majority of this, 16 finds (59%) was found in Locus 3, with material present in Loci 2, 4 and 5 additionally. Contexts 3, 4 and 5 are secure and the material from them is probably ancient in the case of Locus 3 and definitely ancient in the cases of Loci 4 and 5. 3 finds were catalogued- a bronze coin from Locus 2, PC20120044 , a bent iron fragment from Locus 2, PC20120084 , and a worked bronze fragment from Locus 3, PC 20120131 .

The slag weights were done after the preliminary metal summary was completed. During conservation two slag pieces from Locus 3 and one from Locus 5 were found to be rocks instead of slag, so seven pieces for Locus 3 and three for Locus 5 make the total slag count for CB56 10 pieces. The new total metal count is 24 finds.
