A meter-wide pick pass was made from the center of the trench towards the northern boundary.

Coin (Italian Republic?)

A coin was found in the northeastern quarter of the trench. Due to erosion of the surface and dirt, it is hard to distinguish features. However, it appears to have ‘republica’ written on it.

A second pick pass was mad in the northern area of the trench.

Handpicks were used to level and clippers to clear small roots in the northern half of the trench.

Three larger roots were removed in the northeastern part of the trench with a pickaxe.

A first pick pass was made for Locus 2 from the southern edge of the trench, stretching a meter north.

The soil is a more yellow, grey-brown, with a dry, crumbly consistency, and contains fewer roots than locus 1. Another pick pass was made towards the center of the trench.
