Grid of Agger 9 extension excavated in 1997 was re-established and extended to the north (E125-130, S11-15).
A shallow cut was begun in the portions of meters E129-130, S14 along the western edge of the upper building wall of R12. The grayish-brown soil with roots and small fist-sized stones was designated Locus 25. Several very worn pieces of tile were recovered, as well as a few pieces of pottery, which will be totalled in the afternoon entry.

Cut in meters E128-9, S15 was continued and extended to the north into meters E128-9, S14. Soil remained consistent with earlier description and maintained the designation Locus 25. The area was levelled to an approximate depth of 45cm b.d. In this work a spindle whorl was recovered at E128.70, S14.10 and was designated Find #1. In addition approximately 60 pieces of well-worn terracotta were found in this work, and 15 fragments of ceramic (7 pieces of coarseware and 8 fragments of impasto. Baulks were trimmed along all sections of 1997 Agger 9 extension.
