C 3 Daily Journal, July 09, 2002
Today we cleaned and articulated the N-S running wall L3068 In the SE portion of the trench. While removing a sizable amount of dirt on the S end at the baulk we found that the wall did not continue and that there was a remnant of the floor that had been the threshold of the door of the wall. This is L3074. Also we found the foundation trench on the E side of the wall L3068 and saw that it is cutting through 3060 and L3063. So now we know that we already cut through the associated surface and now it is time to take off the wall.

Has note | The purpose of the daily journal was to record the activities taking place in a trench each day. This included which loci were excavated, how and why loci were excavated and the ongoing impressions of the relationships among loci. It should be noted that journals record the actions, impressions and ideas of trench supervisors during the excavations. They are not, therefore, the final interpretations or syntheses of the emerging data. |
