Trimmed baulk on the southwall of the trench to establish a straight baulk. This produced 3 fragments of impasto and 10-12 small fragments of tile and plaster.
A ten centimeter cut was taken in meters A-B/3-4 bringing the floor to 50 cm b.d. in the southern portions of the cut and approximately 40 cm in the northern portions. The soil was light brown with some small stones. This work produced 1/8 of a cassetta of tile fragments, and 15-20 fragments of pottery and bone. A portion of a glass bead (#1) and a bronze rivet (#2) were also recovered in this area.
Began troweling in meters A-B/1-4 in an attempt to level the area to ~50 cm b.d. The soil was light brown in color. This work produced 20-30 small fragments of tile and plaster, and 1 1/6 latte boxes of pottery and bone, which was combined with pottery and bone from the previous cut in A-B/3-4 as it came from the same stratum.
A tree stump in A/4 was removed. Three fragments of tile and a tooth were recovered beneath it.
