The remainder of the trench was brought down to the surface of the road using baulk hammers. Soil was sorted into buckets. A clear surface was uncovered in the aproximate 3 western meters of the trench. In the eastern meter, the concentration of rocks is noticeably less and the soil remians a looser top soil, not the hard packed olive green soil found underneath the rocks. Closing photos were taken.

The area for a new trench frarther down the projected road was cleared and a wescond 4x2m trench (CD 14-B) was triangulated.

The trench was brought down to the level of the road surface using baulk hammers and soil (top soil) was sorted into buckets. Like in CD 14-A, the soil on which the rocks rested was a hard packed, olive-green soil. The westernmost meter of the road was exposed.
