AM

Did a pick pass of the trench, excluding the southeastern corner due to the flaky galestra like soil found there. Also we left alone the northern rocky section which will be defined by trowels. While picking up the loose dirt from the pick pass a large amount of bone was found as well pottery and terracotta. A spindle whorl was found (special find #1).

After speaking with Dr. Tuck, it was decided to go ahead and begin excavating the 1x4 meter section between CC-7 Ext and CC-7 Ext B. It lays at

PM

We continued picking up dirt from the morning pick pass in CC-7 Ext B. In Ext. C we picks up the loose rocks and terracotta. We made a pick pass through CC-7 Ext. B. The grayish carbon rich soil that would found in CC-7 Ext at Locus 9 is beginning to be exposed in Ext B. During the pickpass a ridged rim was found, along with a whole rocchetto (special find #3 and #4). While troweling a possible full profile vessel (special find #5) and then a large bone with a cut mark on it (special find #6) was found.

After cleaning up the dirt from the pick pass we used small picks and trowels to further define the new gray soil in the trench. We also defined the galestra like patch in the southeast.

Found, incised rim (special find #7).
