June 13, 1977

Work continued with a cut 2m wide (25-26) and 3m long (J-L). A rock packing directly beneath the top soil was encountered. Tile fragments, enough to fill three boxes, were found below the packing as well as two "strawberry" boxes of coarseware and bucchero fragments.

Work Resumed this afternoon with another cut in grid J-L/25-26. Tile fragments and occasional pieces of bucchero were found at a depth of 18cm. Chunks of coarseware pottery were found as well, mixed within a lightly concentrated stone packing.
