Today work continued in Rectangle 10.
In grid F/5, the pot uncovered Saturday has been cleared around. It lies in a layer of reddish pebbly fill which is very hard. This layer is 5-10cm below the surface. A large part of one side of a simple coarseware vessel has been revealed so far.
An area in Grids E-F/1 has been dug to a depth of 20-25cm. A reddish hard layer similar to that in F/5 was found. Under this is soft clay-like soil. Here a few potsherds were found. Two cuts were made through the dike to find the alleged wall. One, in grids D-E/4-5 has turned up large stones which appear to be the wall. The other cut, in D-E/2 is as yet incomplete.
These areas have turned up ~1-2 cassetta of tile and 3 plastic bags of pottery.
