Work continued in grids A-B/1-2 and advanced into C/1-2 at the 50cm depth. A light rock pack runs the width of the rectangle, though it is slightly heavier in 2. A half cassetta of tile was removed. Very little pottery encountered. The area was brushed down slightly rerealing a burn layer immediatley below the 50cm level.
This afternoon the cut from C/1-2 was continued into D/1-2 at the same depth and revealing similar stone packing. The cut from H/1-2 progressed toward the wall of the Lower Building, though G/1-2. A heavy layer of tile appears at a 40cm. depth coving a layer of dark brown earth containing much carbon. A layer of apparent stone packing appears at the 50cm depth at the east end of G/1-2.
